Set up Pelagus Wallet

For the best experience, use Chrome or Brave browsers.

Head to the Chrome Web Store and install the Pelagus Wallet extension.

Then you’ll be asked once more if you want to add the Pelagus Wallet extension to your browser.

To install it, simply click “Add extension.”

After the extension is installed in your browser, a window will open asking you to choose between “Use existing wallet” or “Create new wallet.”

If you want to restore a wallet from a seed phrase, you can follow Restore Pelagus Wallet Using Your Seed Phrase. But in this guide, we’ll be creating a new wallet, so click “Create new wallet.”

Next, you’ll need to create a password that you’ll use to log into your wallet. Make sure to store it in a safe place so you can recover it if you forget.

Never share your password with anyone — it’s private and personal, and should always be kept secure.

Your password should be marked as strong to help protect your wallet from unauthorized access. Take this seriously — your funds deserve strong security.

For a strong password, use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, and make sure it’s at least 8 characters long.

You can also choose to click “Set Pelagus as default wallet” so that apps prioritize Pelagus over other wallets.

After clicking “Anchors Away!”, you’ll be shown important information to help keep your funds safe.

Please take this seriously — it’s a crucial step in protecting your wallet and your assets.

It's important to write down your secret recovery phrase and store it somewhere safe. This is the only way to recover your accounts and funds. You will not be able to export your recovery phrase later.

Click “Create Recovery Phrase” only if you understand the importance of this step.

Store your phrase in a secure, private place — anyone who has it can access your wallet, just like you.

⚠️ No one, including Quai, can recover your wallet if you lose the phrase.

Never disclose this recovery phrase. If someone asks for your recovery phrase they are likely trying to scam you and steal your wallet funds.

Once you’ve written down your recovery phrase exactly, click “I wrote it down” to proceed.

You’ll be asked to confirm it — this ensures that you’ve securely saved it and proves that you’re in full control of your wallet.

When you’re done, simply click:

1️⃣ Verify Recovery Phrase 2️⃣ Finalize

That’s it — your wallet is ready to use!
